A Personal Appeal
Hey everyone,
this is Coire from Walker Guitar. I hope all of you are doing well musically and otherwise. I have some important thoughts I want to share with you about the future of Walker Guitar.
When I began Walker Guitar two years ago, I sought to create a sense of community with a positive place for learning. I wanted to be able to connect with people on a platform that is free and fair, equal and accessible. I wanted to share my knowledge and love of guitar with everyone: those who could afford to purchase music lessons and those who could not, those who have access to great teachers and those who do not. It became obvious that the internet was the platform where I could achieve these ideals, and I launched my site in January of 2011. While Walker Guitar is beginning to take the shape of my original vision, is still has much further to go. But Rome wasn’t built in a day, or a matter of months or years.
I have come to realize that in order for this site to succeed, it doesn’t need a team of web developers, several marketing experts, a million dollar advertising budget or Superbowl halftime commercials with singing bullfrogs…it needs YOU, its members, to become a community, a living collective of users who share the same vision: this is our place to learn, share and grow, and everyone here matters. If you believe in the potential of this website, I need you to step forward and become this community, now. All of you are part of this collective, and each of you have an undeniably crucial part in the success of Walker Guitar. Walker Guitar will remain where it is until you, the community, bring it out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Here is what you can do:
