Joey Cape/Tony Sly
I grew up in SoCal fed on the punk scene there, so a Lagwagon and No Use For A Name show was pretty much a given for me. Both frontmen, friends for ages now, getting together to do an unpromoted acoustic tour just for kicks is so my style. There’s just something super about singing songs from your youth campfire-style alongside a crowd of 70 people all as stoked as yourself, all a bit out of key, all as hammered as Joey and Tony. Imperfections and crowd banter, the music was almost secondary to the community, which is of course what punk rock was all about in those days, and for an evening it was alive again. Makes us old-timers pretty darn proud.
