Open Chords (Dom7)
Dominant Seventh Chords
(also D7 or Dom7)
The Dominant 7th chord is the heart of blues, funk and arguably even heavy metal–if you’re one of the types that believe Sabbath played a large part in metal that is! Long live the tri-tone, the devil’s interval, the reason to be rightfully banned from Sunday Mass! There are 4 different notes that make a dominant 7th chord:
1 – root
3 – third (major)
5 – fifth
b7 – seventh (flat)
Here are the dominant seventh chords:
A7
B7
C7
D7

Fogettaboutit!
